Rubio: Hamas Emboldened by Global Moves, Peace Impossible While Group Exists

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in an interview with EWTN last night, said Hamas refuses to make concessions because it believes it is winning in global media.

Rubio stressed there will be no peace in Gaza while Hamas exists, as its core goal is destroying Israel and expelling Jews from the Middle East. He noted Hamas remains armed and dangerous, posing a constant threat to peace.

Rubio blamed the collapse of talks on France’s unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state, saying such moves embolden Hamas and make agreements harder. He agreed with Israeli PM Netanyahu that recognizing a Palestinian state would reward Hamas, adding that defining its borders or leadership remains impossible.
